State-of-The-Art Production Lab

Alta has been in the audio visual field for over 25 yrs. She taught ROP (regional occupations program) audio visual, media production and videotaping on the high school level at Vintage High School in Napa, California She also was in charge of the media center at Napa Valley College and trained several students in the set up and use of various types of audio visual equipment.

George attended Northern Arizona University and majored in education and then later received a masters degree in audio visual technology. During his early career, he studied photography under Ansel Adams and came to love photography, both portrait and environmental. He taught photography on the high school and college level for 36 years.

Alta and her husband, George founded a photography and video business in California. They had a complete photo studio, processing lab, and video production lab. Together they photographed and taped many weddings in the Napa Valley. Alta also produced many instructional videos and promo videos for several local wineries and other organizations, in addition to more personal videos transferring old movies, photos and slides to video with music. Her claim to fame is videotaping a promo when her favorite quarterback, Steve Young visited a high school in Mariposa, California for two years in a row. George’s photography won many awards, including “People’s Choice at the Napa Valley Mustard Festival two years in a row.

Their company was contacted by APDT and hired to videotape the conference in Memphis, Tennessee. After selling their storefront business in California, both retired and moved to Boise, Idaho, where they enjoy their grandchildren and keep busy taping seminars and learning how to train their very spoiled, but well loved dogs, a border collie “Drew”, the matriarch, and a Cavalier King Charles, “Ruby” (the new baby girl)

Tawzer Dog Videos is the dream of owners George and Alta Tawzer. We first became interested when asked to videotape an APDT conference several years ago. We found there was so much valuable information out there on positive training that could contribute to a better environment and dog-friendly training for our canine friends that we began asking the instructors if we could videotape their presentations and make them available to the public.

Over the years many wonderful and knowledgeable speakers have allowed us to videotape their lectures and seminars and for this we are most grateful. We are both retired and enjoy being able to offer this service. Our mission is to offer only material that incorporates positive training methods.
