All dog professionals need strong client
communication skills. We tend to study canine behavior in great
depth, while spending little or no time learning the many effective
methods to communicate with the human end of the lead. Sarah Wilson's
Masters work with Lesley University focuses on understanding the
human/animal bond and how to facilitate behavior change...in the people.
This session focuses on:
- Separation between personal and professional
persona
- Becoming "solution-focused" rather than
"problem-focused"
- How to reframe, redirect and resolve
- Questioning for sensory-based rather than
subjective, information
- What makes some clients "easy" or "difficult"
- Making client resistance work for you
- Understanding your magic bullet: A.C.E.
