This workshop focuses on developing and teaching classes to the public.
Specific topics covered will include class
development, methods, motivation, and how to partner with others in the profession. The class development portion of this
workshop will focus on what students are able to accomplish in these classes as well as why shorter classes may better
promote retention and advancement to higher levels. Other options such as private, semi-private, and day long classes are
also discussed. The methods section focuses on what the public wants and expects from a class and instructor. The motivation
section focuses on how to encourage successes with your students to build beyond basic classes. Finally, in partnerships
Rocky discusses how to partner with others in the profession such as vendors, vets, groomers and others to obtain referrals.
You will learn how to get things for free and how to build a community awareness of your classes and business. Rocky is the
National Canine Education Programs Manager for PETCO.
