Dangerous dogs as a serious concern. What is the solution? Why do dogs bite? Which dogs bite? Also included are the topics,
encountering dogs, encountering the dangerous dog, tools and techniques of the trade presentation, use of force continuum,
and the 1997 Evaluation of Pepper Spray.
This course will enable personnel to recognize and respond to hazardous situations
associated with dangerous or potentially dangerous dogs. Students will learn about tools, techniques and equipment that can
be used to repel or handle aggressive animals. They will also become familiar with illegal practices associated with greater
risk of dog attacks (e.g. dog fighting) and dog bite prevention resources that can be part of a large program promoting
